Noel Kegg looked for a Glasgow web design company to help them develop a strategy, a plan and a solution to take the company online and to grow new markets beyond the Glasgow home base. Their established business selling professional power tools, hand tools, workwear and PPE to the trade was expanding into new product ranges to an ever larger client base.

The company contacted Scottish Enterprise who introduced them to an independent ICT advisor that helped them develop a strategy and plan for online trade. Following a tender process, INDEZ was eventually selected on the basis of having produced similar sites to what Noel Kegg were looking for. Key requirements were SEO combined with good design and usability.

The Target Market for the main Noel Kegg website is large UK building companies who require a one stop shop supplier that is able to deliver high quality tools reliably and speedily throughout the UK.

Infrastructure and Resourcing

Following advice from INDEZ, Noel Kegg decided that the company needed to rethink it's overall IT strategy. Up till this point, NoelKegg had used a variety of systems and tools all run internally. Under guidance from INDEZ, the company is now undergoing a process that will eventually lead towards a joined up and fully integrated solution that will cover all aspects of their business. This will eventually include email, CRM, a product catalog, diary contacts database, sales-flow systems and management information services. This vision is part of a company culture designed to embrace new technology and turn it to clear competitive advantage.

• Catalog creation - this involved several people from Noel Kegg creating a massive new detailed catalog database of all products with detailed text descriptions as well as high quality product photographs. One the catalog was completed, INDEZ was again engaged to create a secondary online marketing channel selling tools directly through the web. The new channel is called TOOLSTOP.
