United Kingdom
The ONS publishes no web-only B2B figure, and its latest published year is 2019. The last UK value in Eurostat is 4.78% of turnover for 2019 sales.
Why the latest year is 2019
The ONS published "E-commerce and ICT activity, UK: 2019" on 5 February 2021. It describes that as the latest release, lists the next as "to be announced", and we found no later edition. Any UK business e-commerce figure dated after 2019 is therefore an estimate from someone else. Use the 2019 figures with their year.
The ONS publishes no web-only B2B figure
The ONS publishes website sales for 2019 but does not split them between business and household customers. Its only split is by where the customer is. The ONS figures below include consumer sales, so we show them for context and do not call them B2B. Eurostat's last UK value for web sales to businesses and government is 4.78% of turnover, for 2019 sales.

What the ONS covers
The headline figures cover UK businesses with 10 or more employees outside the financial sector, including manufacturing, production, construction and distribution and parts of the services sector. Results for businesses with fewer than 10 employees are in the dataset, but the ONS says to use them with caution.

European Union (EU-27)
Eurostat publishes shares of turnover, not a euro market size. It is the only official source here that splits web sales between businesses and consumers.
What Eurostat measures
All figures are for sales made in 2024, collected in the 2025 survey of ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises. They cover enterprises with 10 or more employees in most sectors, excluding agriculture, mining and the financial sector. Eurostat reports web sales (websites, apps and marketplaces) as a share of enterprise turnover and splits them by customer type: businesses and government against consumers. This page uses the businesses-and-government figures wherever Eurostat publishes them. Eurostat does not publish a euro market size.

Ireland, with a warning
(Data confirmed; caution on the size of the change.) Ireland's 18.77% is nearly three times its 6.49% a year earlier. The jump is in Eurostat's published data, but a one-year change of that size is unusual, so treat Ireland's level with caution. It is driven by large multinationals: firms with 250 or more employees are 25.27%, while SMEs (10 to 249 employees) are 2.40%, below the EU-27 SME figure of 3.19%.

The long view
Since 2014, web sales to businesses and government have stayed between 3.11% and 4.34% of EU-27 turnover, and 4.34% in 2024 is the highest in the series. Web sales to consumers rose from 1.55% to 4.04% over the same years, so they have almost caught up.

What it means for you
Web sales to business customers are a small share of EU turnover so far, but they are about half of all web sales, and they are higher in wholesale, transport and information services than in manufacturing or retail. Larger enterprises sell this way more often than small ones, so trade customers may already expect to order and reorder on a website.

Canada
Statistics Canada publishes no web-only or business-only e-commerce figure, so there is no official Canadian number on this page.
Why there is no Canadian figure
Statistics Canada's latest release (The Daily, 17 September 2024, 2023 data) reports e-commerce sales for all businesses with 5 or more employees. It says the total includes business-to-business and business-to-consumer sales, and it gives no split by customer type and no web-only figure. We found no Statistics Canada table that does either, so this page has no Canadian B2B figure. Any Canadian "B2B ecommerce market" size you see quoted is a market-research estimate.

Do not compare
the Digital Commerce 360 $2.93tn (2025) is a US dollar value with no published definition, and Eurostat's 4.34% is a share of turnover, not a value, so the two cannot be set side by side. Canada has no web-only B2B figure. The UK's last Eurostat value is 4.78% for 2019 sales, so do not rank it against EU countries.

Methodology and how to cite
Where the figures come from and how far to trust them.
What this page covers
This page covers sales through websites, apps, trade portals and marketplaces. It leaves out automated system-to-system ordering between companies' purchasing systems, which official statistics count as e-commerce.
Markets with no figure
For the UK, the ONS publishes no web-only B2B figure, because its website sales include consumers. Eurostat's last UK value is 4.78% of turnover for 2019 sales. Statistics Canada publishes no web-only B2B figure either, so Canada has no headline number here.
Shares against values
Eurostat publishes shares of enterprise turnover, not a euro total. The ONS publishes pounds and Digital Commerce 360 US dollars.
Reference years and geography
Eurostat's "2025" survey reports sales in 2024. The ONS business series stops at 2019. Digital Commerce 360 is 2025. The UK has no Eurostat value after 2019, so we do not rank it against EU countries.
Thresholds and sectors differ
Eurostat and the ONS cover enterprises with 10 or more employees, and Eurostat leaves out agriculture, mining and the financial sector.
Surveys and estimates
Eurostat and the ONS use sample surveys of businesses. Digital Commerce 360 gives an estimate and does not publish its method or definition on the public page.
Vendor and analyst surveys
Gartner, McKinsey and Forrester survey buyers and companies. Their samples are global or US-led, and "willing to spend" is stated intent, not completed orders. For Gartner and McKinsey we read press reports of the releases because the publishers' pages did not open, so those figures are marked Estimated.
Currencies kept as published
We show pounds, euros as shares and US dollars as the source published them. We have not converted any figure. Market-research forecasts from firms such as Mordor Intelligence and IMARC appear only in the checked section.
